Baxter's Vineyards, along with the Scenic Rivers Wine Trail will be hosting a Chocolate and Wine Weekend. Vineyard Pruning Workshop
February 20, 2010 at Baxter's Vineyards Nauvoo, IL 9 am to 12 noon
Baxter's Vineyards will be hosting a vineyard pruning workshop on February 20, 2010 from 9 am to 12 pm at Baxter's Vineyards, 2010 East Parley Street, Nauvoo, IL. The workshop will be a hands-on demonstration led by Kelly Logan, vineyard owner/manager at Baxter's Vineyards. Participants will need to bring pruning shears and dress for cold weather. Kelly will be demonstrating how to spur prune to establish cordons on newly planted Norton grape vines. Registration fee will be taken at the door starting at 8:30 am and will be $10.00 per person. The winery is located 11 blocks east of Highway 96 traveling through the Nauvoo State Park. Wine samples, coffee and light refreshments will be available immediately following the workshop. Pasta Workshop with Liz Clark

One of the greatest ways to treat spring foods -pasta in all its guises! We'll make our own lasagna noodles, tortellini, ravioli, and fettuccine, as you get comfortable with this all-time favorite. March 2010 Events 12th Annual Illinois Products Expo March 6 & 7, 2010 at The Orr Building on the Illinois State Fairgrounds Springfield, IL Saturday - 10 am to 5 pm Sunday - 11 am to 4 pm
The 12th Annual Illinois Products Expo showcases over seventy Illinois Food companies (and a few non-food companies) and will also feature the Illinois Wine & Cheese Garden. Baxter's Vineyards will be one of the many wineries that will be participating in this annual event. The cost to attend the Expo is only $4. Wine samples will be available (for a nominal fee), along with wine by the glass and bottle.
An International Fish and Seafood Workshop with Liz Clark Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Baxter's Vineyards Nauvoo, IL 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm It's lent and the seafood counter is loaded with great looking products, but you don't know what to do with them. If you grew up in the Midwest, catfish and canned tuna may be the limit of your repertoire. Liz has traveled the world and returned with a catalog of recipes and inspirations for you. Thai Shrimp Sauté, Sicilian Braised Swordfish, Belgian Mussels with their succulent broth, a wonderful Curried Salmon and Snow Pea Soup. Sign up immediately for these tempting new taste experiences! This is a wonderful opportunity to sample award winning wines while enjoying live entertainment and delicious local fare. The event is free, with wine tasting wrist bands available for $10.
