Baxter's Vineyards/Winery tasting room is located in the same building as the winery itself. When you enter the winery your senses come alive to many wonderful smells. Along with making wine, the winery is home to Carol's Pies which are sold exclusively at the winery. The shop has a wide variety of food and gift items to choose from. Just a few of the food products you will find include jams, jellies, fruit butters, preserves (sugar-less varieties as well), pickles, relishes, local honey, salsas, mustards, and more. We carry a variety of Kathy's Kitchen products made in Virginia, IL with selections such as dilled asparagus, dilly beans, jalapeno beans, dilled brussel sprouts, rhubarb preserves, gooseberry jam, and more hard to find varieties. From the Amana Colonies we have cheese curds, sausages, pickled ham, sauerkraut, and horseradish sauce. Baxter's Vineyards also carries Wisconsin Shullsburg cheeses, along with a multitude of varieties of Amish Cheese including yogurt, vegetable yogurt, pepper jack, pepper/co-jack, co-jack, and butter cheese. Also found in the tasting room is a wonderful selection of wine racks, wine accessories, cookbooks, wind devas, t-shirts & sweatshirts, wine glasses and countless gift and decorating ideas. Baxter's also has home winemaker's supplies, fermentation locks, rubber and wooden bungs, wine yeast, and more for the amateur winemaker. Delicious, homemade pies are her specialty, along with her yummy sweet breads. Ordering ahead guarantees that your favorite pie will be freshly baked and ready. Carol makes all kinds of fruit pies, depending on the availability of fruit in season, along with cream pies and specialty pies for that special occasion. |
